My installation explores the tension between the atmosphere inside psychiatric facilities and the patients inhabiting them. Set in a 20’ x 20’ x 9’ room modeled after a group therapy space; the minimalist design reflects the monotony of inpatient care. Using Blender, Adobe Premiere Pro, an AI voice generator, and royalty-free music, I created an immersive art installation featuring scripted dialogue based on language commonly heard in treatment layered with unsettling ambient sounds. The audience is free to move, sit, and listen while experiencing the discomfort between external stability and inner turmoil. By inviting people to move freely through the space, the room presents a glimpse into the isolating, often daunting reality of psychiatric facilities. My installation invites people to reflect on the often-unseen emotional weight of being in psychiatric care, offering a glimpse into a reality many never witness.
