Influenced by Biman Mullick’s efforts to advocate for a smoke-free environment, I created a poster inspired by the morbid phrases illustrated on his posters. His designs are both shocking and thought-provoking due to his blunt and transparent language surrounding the health risks of smoking. Using the Adobe creative suite, I scanned numerous sketches then transferred the images into Adobe Photoshop. Contrary to condemning the act of smoking, I twisted the message to project a seemingly pro-smoking standpoint.
Ultimately, I aimed to create an antagonistic poster which communicates a more complex message: If you are going to smoke, commit to it. If the consequences mean nothing, then smoke until you die.
